March Meeting Recap
We thank the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital for hosting our monthly luncheon.

Hoops provided nice box lunches.

Barbara Nichols, IABA President, welcomed everyone to the meeting. Each person in attendance introduced themselves and their business.

LMPD Lieutenant Don George of the 4th Division spoke of the rise of theft from cars, primarily due to people leaving their vehicles unlocked. His email address is Don.George@louisvilleky.gov. Officer Dean Sturgeon continues serving as one of the Division Resource Officers and spoke of his desire to keep good working relations will all within the division boundaries.

Joey Riddle, Principal of Iroquois High School, thanked us for our support. Tomorrow is his final day as principal of Iroquois High School. He will become principal at Buechel Metropolitan School for the remainder of the year. He introduced Scott Perkins who will be the interim Principal.

Marty Meyer, Legislative Assistance to Metro Councilman David Yates, and an area representative for State Senator Perry Clark, shared some of the accomplishments of the most recent Kentucky legislative session. Senator Clark was scheduled to speak with us, but was unable to attend due to the special session called by the governor. A list of these accomplishments thta impact small businesses can be attained by going to www.lrc.ky.gov or you can email Senator Clark for more information.

Marty also shared several accomplishments from his first 72 days of working with 25th District Councilman David Yates. One of them about to materialize is a new southwest office for the Metro Council districts in the area. It will open at the Southwest Government Center in two weeks. This office will be shared by Metro Council members Yates, Welch, Blackwell, and Henderson. A festive grand opening will be announced later.

Twenty-one were in attendance at the meeting.

Our next meeting will be at the Kenwood Heights Christian Church, 5620 New Cut Road on April 21.  The luncheon will begin at 11:30.  Our featured speaker will be the Honorable Mayor Greg Fischer.
